Forza Motorsport 5 – the Legendary Driving Franchise

There are some games that constantly perform in terms of sales when a new edition is released and Forza Motorsport 5 is one of them. This time round there is a new graphics engine, while gameplay just seems much smoother. The cars are easy to handle, but not too easy, while there are many complex corners that can catch you out.

You have to have your own tactics to come away as the winner of a race, and when you’ve finished the storyline, you’ll love the new multiplayer modes. You can use the smart match to race online with people who have a similar racing style, while Top Gear presented Jeremy Clarkson and James May appear throughout the game.

You’re certainly in for a treat with this racing game, and a racing game has certainly never looked better in the highest possible resolution; 1080p HD and 60 frames per second.

Puzzle Agent: From Fargo to Twin Peaks

This past year has seen a huge boost in popularity and interest in two of my favourite, weird, franchises; Twin Peaks and Fargo. While very much their own series, they have a lot of things in common, a lot of things that have resonated with the viewing public. Puzzle Agent is a game from Telltale Studios; famous for their work on The Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us and their upcoming take on the Minecraft franchise. The game is set in Scoggins, Minnesota, and focuses on a man named Nelson Tethers, a puzzle solving expert for the CIA. When the President’s supply of erasers from Scoggins suddenly dries up Nelson is sent in to find out why. The game focuses on a set of puzzles of various difficulties, but the whole game is tied together with an extremely bizarre story.

The game features extremely unusual characters, with weird, nuanced personalities that evoke some of the stranger characters in both Twin Peaks and Fargo. With also an unusual cast of bizarre and extremely threatening gnomes to upset the player even more.

Playstation 4 vs Xbox One: Price

A year ago this was a simple discussion; Sony’s Playstation 4 was £349/$399 while the Xbox One was £429/$499. That was where the discussion stopped; the Playstation 4 was a whole lot cheaper. But now, twelve months later, the conversation has got a lot more complicated for shoppers.

The Xbox One has lost its mandatory Kinect, a motion sensitive camera used to navigate menus and add various features to games and, as a result, the cost has gone down to be a little closer to the Playstation 4.

The second thing to consider is the games that come bundled with your machine. If you, your son or daughter want Grand Theft Auto 5 then a machine that comes bundled with that title will likely be cheaper than buying the two separately. Both Microsoft and Sony have various official bundles, while retailers also put on their own bundles, especially around Christmas.

FIFA 15: The Perfect Cure for Football Blues

Some things in life are certain; we’re born, we die and every single year, without fail, we get a FIFA game (some years we even get two!) Over the years the competition has always been between football game series; FIFA and Pro Evolution Soccer. During the early 2000s Pro Evolution Soccer was the king; beautiful gameplay, reminiscent of the real life beautiful sport, but with no licensed names or stadiums, both of which are excellent in FIFA.

FIFA has come back strong though; from FIFA 2009 onwards the series has started to get closer to the real thing. More weighty players and good understanding of momentum were key, coupled with fully licensed teams and players meant that the series popularity has skyrocketed.

This year’s entry, FIFA 15, has, however, gone backwards in quality. An over reliance on speed has meant that all other attributes have fallen by the wayside; players like Diego Costa, a strong, powerful centre forward, isn’t as effective as the real thing, while smaller, more skillful players like Andres Iniesta also lose their impact – but players who are fast are king.

WWE 2K15 Hulkamania Edition – You Heard It Here First Brother!

WWE 2K15 is a must have game for any wrestling fan, even those who around when Hulk Hogan was slamming down the leg drop. WWE 2K15 Hulkamania Edition includes a figurine, premium packaging, a figure, a piece of ring canvas as well as preordable Hunk and Sting characters.

The only downside is that it costs just under £80 but that won’t be an issue for Hulkamaniacs, and you’re essentially getting a piece of history with this game package. You also don’t get any difference in terms of gaming. By this ewe man that there are no extra game mdoes, and the redeemable characters are the only difference.

Some people will be interested in this deal which is only available at one outlet in the UK, but it’s certainly not for everyone, only the Hulkamiacs.
